Hi,  I am Rachel. I am a Canadian girl who loves design and salvaging sad forgotten furniture to try creatively breath new life into it.

I am that girl who was changing her bedroom around almost every other week as a kid, scrounging and “borrowing” what I could find around the house to pull off whatever brilliant master plan I had in mind. It drove my parents a little batty when they couldn’t find the dining room chair or whatever piece it happened to be that week. This past spring the Hubby and I got married and moved into our own place where I can change things around in to my heart’s content. Love it.

We love our house and have been applying some TLC and a whole lot of paint to turn it into our home. I am passionate about home. Not a house that just looks pretty but a home that you can  really live in, a home that reflects who you are as an individual or family, and a home with an open door policy that people love to visit and feel welcomed in when they walk in the door.

Our Home

Being a newly wed I am on a budget which I find makes the projects a lot of fun. There is a bit of a thrill when you come up with that perfect solution and manage to pull it off with your own two hands and on budget. This is where I chronicle my forays into DIY home renovation, the thrifty pieces of furniture I tackle, and all the other fun projects I am sure to get distracted by along the way.

I am excited about this journey and I hope you enjoy the projects as much as I enjoy doing them!

I would love to hear from you if you have any thoughts, ideas, or any projects of your own that you have tackled!

  1. So happy to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’ll be sure to add you to my blogroll, because I love finding fellow Ottawa bloggers, too.

  2. I think my favourite is the story of how you used to bring things to decorate your tent when you went camping as a kid. So fitting!

Please post your thoughts!
